My first day at the zoo
Yesterday was my first day at the zoo, they have a program for kids between 4-5 years old to protect animals and their environment, and I'll participate on it these days.
Because its was my first day and wasn't planed to start yesterday.. I couldn't participate that much. But I enjoyed so much the activities;
They did a play where they talked about the history of Bauru, some characters involved in the development of the city, the importance of the railway, and the ingredients to make a sandwich that is typical here in Brazil and have the name of Bauru.
Then they take all the kids outside to dance, sing and play some games. Also in the area they have animals, so the children learn to live in harmony with animals.
2o Day
Today we did an activity where kids paint plant pots and then placed inside little rocks, soil and seedling.
Then we went to the railway museum, they talked about the history of Bauru and the railway and then take a tour from inside the train.
The most interesting part, for me, was that in the central of the train they had a dentist that checked the oral health form the driver and his family.
The end of summer course
Friday was the last day of the summer course, the results were very satisfactory. The children were very motivated to protect the environment and animals
They did a song that talks about animals that it's common to find in Bauru and sang all together when the parents went to pick them up.
They also did an activity here talked about the characteristics of some animals; turtles, crocodile, lizard, snakes, birds, and monkeys.
They also mentioned why they are important in nature and that they only hurt whey they are scared...
Ann Lee, I am surprised about the fact that there are a Dentist in the Zoo to look for the oral health from the driver and his family...I understand you are talking about railway driver, is this?
ReplyDeleteWow!!!...what do yo reflect about this?...it seems that oral health has a relevant role there...
Thanks for sharing!!!

Hello Dra. Ana, I’m glad you liked it!
ReplyDeleteThe visit to the museum was an activity that the zoo had for the kids.
The dentist worked at train station, his work was to do a check up of all drivers and their families when the train stopped at Bauru, and check if they needed any treatment.
It was important because they stay very short time at the city, and the most important to prevent any treatment because they travel to so many places that it was difficult to follow up any Tx in these conditions
I’m sorry that the ideas are so mixed up, but right now I’m having troubles with language.. It’s new for me to talk in Portuguese, think in Spanish and write in English. Lool hope with the time it becomes easier
